There are days when we miss those who have gone even more: an anniversary, a birthday, a song that suddenly plays. In A shared universe you can light a star for that person, and others will see it shine with you.
Remembering is also loving
Losing someone doesn’t mean you stop loving them. Remembering them, talking to them or lighting a light for them is a way of keeping that bond. Missing someone is another way of loving.
Choose “What weighs on me”, or “What I’m grateful for” if you want to give thanks for their life.
Under “Who does it shine for?”, choose “For someone who is gone”.
Write what you’d like to tell them or share, without their name or yours.
What people will tell you
Whoever sees your star can leave you words like these:
I’m truly sorry
Love doesn’t leave
Their light is still here
What they left you stays with you
Those we love are never forgotten
You don’t have to spend this day alone
Grief has no deadline
Is it the same as naming a star after them?
No. Nothing here is bought or registered, and no real star is named. It’s a shared light that shines for seven days, for free, and that you can keep shining by coming back whenever you need it. What remains is the company of those who look at it.
